Summary

Some users may experience a problem where PartsTech will present a login screen, even when going through the Shop Manager integration (eComm). Typically the user would be automatically logged in, leaving no need to enter a separate username and password to use PartsTech.

Why Did This Begin Happening?

Google has begun deprecating support for 3rd party cookies as of January 4, 2024. Google is doing this via a slow roll-out; currently an extremely small percentage of their total users who use Chrome will have these Cookies disabled by default. Those affected were chosen randomly by Google and Shop Manager is not involved with this process in any way.

Please Note: Cookies are still required for many websites to function normally. As such, if your Chrome browser now has Cookies disabled by default, you may experience issues navigating certain internet pages.

Solution

Please look for the 'eye' icon on your Chrome address bar (where you type in web addresses). If you see the icon, click there and then choose to allow 'Third-party cookies'.

If you do not see this 'eye' icon, then please follow the steps below:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click the three dots > Settings.
  3. Click Privacy and security >  Third-party cookies.
  4. Next to 'Allowed to use third-party cookies', click Add
  5. Enter the web address exactly like the following:
    1. [*.]shopmanager.identifix.com
  6. Select Add.

PartsTech should immediately work after enabling cookies for 90 days.

NOTE: Google currently does not allow cookies to be enabled in perpetuity. That means that you may need to repeat this process again in 90 days.
