Certain shops may notice that pricing coming over from PartsTech is being sold “at cost” instead of using the “List Price."

This will happen for any PartsTech subscription which includes a “Retail Price Matrix.” If your PartsTech subscription includes a Retail Price Matrix, Shop Manager will use it.

Even if the "Retail Price Matrix" has not been set up (it’s never been used), Shop Manager will still use the matrix. As such, the default markup will be a zero (which is effectively sold at “cost”).

This update was done at the recommendation of PartsTech as it puts more control for shops to manage pricing strategies on their own, as the default “list price” doesn't provide consistent pricing strategies and may not provide the best profit margins for the shop.

In addition, a list price is not always provided and a price may be missing altogether.

We recommend using the "Retail Price Matrix" (from PartsTech) and/or The Optimizer (from Shop Manager) as they are ideal ways to set prices using the best pricing strategies for your shop.
