Overview
Sometimes, you may need to delete an unwanted Repair Order (RO) in Shop Manager. This is possible under specific conditions. You can delete an RO at any stage—Estimate, Work Order, or Invoice*—as long as no payment activity has been recorded, even if a payment was later refunded or reversed. The ability to delete RO's is permission based.
This article will guide you through the process of deleting an RO in all three stages. Keep reading to learn more.
*Important: A closed RO with a posted payment cannot be deleted. Deleted RO's cannot be recovered!

To delete an open Estimate, you first need to locate and open it within the system. If you don’t know the RO number, you can find it in several ways:
- Navigate to the Scheduler tab in the left-hand toolbar and go through the calendar or Unscheduled Estimates.
- Use the Magnifying tool in the left-hand toolbar to search by relevant details.
- Scroll down on the customer’s profile to view a list of active Estimates.
Once the desired Estimate is open, navigate to the vertical ellipses in the upper right of the RO and choose to 'Delete Job' from the drop-down menu.
Similar to deleting an Estimate, to delete an open Work Order, you first need to locate and open it within the system. If you don’t know the RO number, you can find it in several ways:
- Navigate to the Jobs in the Shop tab in the left-hand toolbar and select Open Jobs to see a list of all open Work Orders in your shop.
- Use the Magnifying tool in the left-hand toolbar to search by relevant details.
- Scroll down on the customer’s profile to view a list of active Work Orders.
Once the desired Word Order is open, navigate to the vertical ellipses in the upper right of the RO and choose to 'Delete Job' from the drop-down menu.
Similar to deleting an Estimate and Work Order, to delete an Invoice, you first need to locate and open it within the system. If you don’t know the RO number, you can find it in several ways:
- Navigate to the Jobs in the Shop tab in the left-hand toolbar and select Closed Jobs to see a list of all closed jobs in your shop.
- Use the Magnifying tool in the left-hand toolbar to search by relevant details.
- Scroll down on the customer’s profile to view a list of Invoices.
Before being able to delete the Invoice, you must first re-open the job. You can re-open the RO by selecting the 'Re-Open Job' button in the bottom left of the RO. Once the desired Invoice is re-opened, navigate to the vertical ellipses in the upper right of the RO and choose to 'Delete Job' from the drop-down menu.
