When creating a new part, the system will ask for a “Part Type."

After a Part Type is chosen, the parts form will show specific values for the selected part type, which will make searching and reporting on parts easier.

For now, there are only two part type options: Parts and Tire.

When selecting “Tire” as a part type, new options will appear within the Part/Tire form. Some of these fields will be required before being able to “save & close” such as Tire width, rim size, and aspect ratio. If non-required fields are not entered, then “size” will display dashes where the detail is missing.

Note: The data entered will be validated. If invalid or nonsense data is entered, an “invalid entry” error will appear. For example, entering a tire width of 1 million inches would cause an error, and the part could not be saved.

The field titled “Where would you like to show this on reporting?” will define how the part shows up on reports through new segmentations.

The Parts inventory page has been updated to show details associated with specific part types. For example, parts associated as a “Tire” part type will show Tire size underneath the part name. We’ve also added a “Part Type” column to easily identify the different options.

  • The “Part Type” column will be sortable in a future update

  • Within a Repair Order, tire size will be displayed on the Inventory table and Service line item summaries

  • Tire Attribute updates will also appear in the Parts Summary Modal, Canned Jobs, and Past Services. Tire Attributes and DOT will appear in PDF exports, Service Summary, and recommendation previews (in DVX) in a future update.

Note:  When viewing inventory from within the RO, the “part type” and “reporting category” fields cannot be edited.

DOT TIN # has also been added to the parts line items. There will be an option to enter DOT TIN numbers for the respective number of tires.

Note: Be advised when editing tire quantities down on a RO; all entered DOT numbers will be cleared automatically.
